It would appear that Agent Jones has finally completed his mission in recruiting the greatest Hunters from across all the realities with the addition of Marvel’s microsized Avenger – Ant-Man – who is available now in the Item Shop for a limited time. This comes as Chapter 2 – Season 5 of Fortnite is scheduled to conclude on March 16th, 2021 at which time Chapter 6 will begin with a NEW theme and storyline to guide players through their next Battle Royale adventure and experience.
The Ant-Man set includes the Ant-Man Outift and Ant-Tonio Back Bling for 1,500 V-Bucks with the Toothpick Pickaxe available to purchase separately for an additional 800 V-Bucks. The Ant-Man Bundle is also available and includes the Ant-Man Outfit, Ant-Tonio Back Bling, and Toothpick Pickaxe for 1,800 V-Bucks; with a discount of 500 V-Bucks or 2,300 V-Bucks if purchased without the bundle.
Epic Games teased the official announcement of Ant-Man via Twitter on March 6th, 2021 with several images of past Marvel Heroes and Villains that have previously made their way into Fortnite while acknowledging that they may have forgotten one – only to learn that this particular hero had in fact been on the Island the entire time; a miniature Ant-Man figure can be found hiding somewhere in each image.
Players have been speculating that Ant-Man would be making his way into Fortnite since Chapter 2 – Season 4 as it was entirely Marvel-themed and also featured a NEW Point of Interest (POI) on the Island called Ant-Manor which was located northeast of Holly Hedges. But as the battle with Galactus concluded, Ant-Man was nowhere to be found and some fans were left disappointed at what felt like a missed opportunity.
Epic Games has also brought back all of their previous Marvel Outfits, Back Bling, Gliders, Pickaxes, and Emotes that were released throughout Chapter 2 – Season 4 for a limited time in the Fortnite Item Shop; excluding those found and unlocked in the Battle Pass. Players can purchase such beloved characters like Venom, Black Widow, Cable, Psylocke, Domino, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer, Daredevil, Captain America, and Blade along with an assortment of items including the Widowmaker Glider, Soulfire Chains Pickaxe, Skull Fire Wrap, Deadpool Gear Bundle, and Snap Emote.
