Epic Games pulled off – arguably – the most comprehensive collaborative event in Fortnite history with beloved franchise Star Wars taking centre stage. Find the Force kicked off on May 2nd, 2023 and ended recently on May 23rd, 2023 at 9AM EST with players having an opportunity to experience some galactic action within Fortnite through unique Force abilities from by Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Darth Maul respectively. After a brief cutscene, players would emerge wielding one of three lightsabers alongside either a push, pull, or throw ability – depending on their chosen trailer. Epic Games usually unvaults the iconic weapons annually in celebration of Star Wars Day (May the 4th) which is a twist on the classic “May the Force be with you” catchphrase spoken throughout the entire franchise.
Players could purchase the Anakin Skywalker Bundle for 2,100 V-Bucks which featured the Anakin Skywalker Outfit, Jedi Holocron Back Bling, Fusion Cutter Pickaxe, Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor Glider, Actis-Class Wrap, and Lightspeed Interceptor Emoticon. Alternatively, the Padmé Amidala Bundle was priced 2,100 V-Bucks and included the Padmé Amidala Outfit, Naboo Yacht Glider, Royal Naboo Staff Pickaxe, and Japor Snippet Back Bling. Discounts of 1,000 V-Bucks and 700 V-Bucks respectively were offered to players through each bundle. Individual cosmetic prices were as follows:
- Anakin Skywalker Outfit (1,500 V-Bucks) | Padmé Amidala Outfit (1,500 V-Bucks)
- Fusion Cutter Pickaxe (500 V-Bucks) | Royal Naboo Staff Pickaxe (500 V-Bucks)
- Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor Glider (800 V-Bucks) | Naboo Yacht Glider (800 V-Bucks)
- Actis-Class Wrap (300 V-Bucks)
Epic Games also released the 501st & 212th Battalion Trooper Pack for 800 V-Bucks which included the 501st Trooper Outfit and 212th Trooper Outfit along with the Clone Trooper Wrap Pack available for 400 V-Bucks which allowed players to customize their weapons and vehicles with designs inspired by the 501st Legion, Wolf Pack Battalion, Ahsoka’s Guard, 212th Legion respectively. These items rarely make appearances outside of Star Wars related celebrations but with the Ahsoka series premiering exclusively on Disney+ in August, they could possibly return to celebrate the occasion.
The Find the Force event concluded with a mini Battle Pass offering both FREE and premium rewards for players to unlock including the Darth Maul Outfit and Sith Infiltrator Glider; 1,000 V-Bucks to gain access to the Sith portion. Galactic Reputation was earned by completing specialty challenges which were divided into four separate sections – representing the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Epic Games has confirmed that cosmetics included in the event are not exclusive and might appear in the Item Shop for purchase at a later date – stay tuned for more details on that announcement.
