The world of Fortnite is getting a visit from Ryan Reynolds for a limited time with a series of quests in partnership with 20th Century Studios to help promote their latest film Free Guy which takes place in a fictitious open-world video game. Reynolds portrays the titular background NPC character named Guy who is a not so ordinary Bank Teller that realizes things are not exactly as they seem and must work to save Free City before it gets shut down completely. Epic Games is celebrating the release of Free Guy with an exclusive Emote that players can unlock for a job well done!
Players can begin their quest by searching for and interacting with an ATM which are scattered across the Island where they will be greeted with a message from Guy featuring audio and video of Reynolds in character. There are a total of six quests to complete and include:
- Get hit by moving vehicle
- Take melee damage
- Place coins around the map
- Talk with any NPC
- Reboot or revive teammates, or interact with campfires
- Use Free Guy Emote near opponent
Players that complete all six Free Guy Quests will be rewarded with the Good Guy Emote to showcase good… or rather… great sportsmanship during those intense Battle Royale matches. And although Guy is too busy to make the trip to Fortnite given that he is currently saving the virtual world, his muscular nemesis known as Dude will arrive in the Item Shop on August 12th, 2021 at 8PM EST.
Those looking to follow Guy’s instructions and add the Good Guy Emote to their Fortnite Locker should act fast because the Free Guy Quests will be available for a limited time starting on August 12th, 2021 and conclude on September 6th, 2021 at which point players will no longer have the opportunity to obtain the Good Guy Emote; not available to purchase at a later time.
