The world of Fortnite is getting a visit from basketball royalty as LeBron James is the latest collaboration to join the Icon Series in the popular Battle Royale game and will be available in the Item Shop for a limited time. LeBron James landed on July 14th, 2021 at 8PM EST just in time for the world premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy on July 16th, 2021 where LeBron continues his legacy and teams up alongside Bugs Bunny and other iconic Looney Tunes characters in a futuristic basketball game.
Players will be able to choose between two stylish Outfits including the LeBron James Outfit for 2,000 V-Bucks which blends the best of his on-court and pre-game persona and includes the King’s Bling Back Bling as well as the Toon Squad LeBron Outfit for 1,500 V-Bucks which includes a LeBron’s Taco Tuesday Style Variant in addition to the Pack Supreme Back Bling. Each LeBron James Outfit comes equipped with the Nike LeBron 19 – King James’ upcoming signature shoe.
Players looking to complete the King James look can purchase the King James Gear Bundle which includes The Lion Pickaxe, The Silencer Emote, and Wingspan Glider for 1,400 V-Bucks which features a unique set of Legendary Quests that can be completed to unlock a progressive edit slider that adds more than 20 gold variations to each Outfit, Pickaxe, and Back Bling – excluding the Toon Squad LeBron Outfit, LeBron’s Taco Tuesday Outfit, and Pack Supreme Back Bling.
Epic Games has also added the King James Bundle for 3,500 V-Bucks which packages together all of the LeBron James Outfits as well as the Court’s In Session Loading Screen which is exclusive to the bundle and is not available to purchase separately. Players can head on over to Believe Beach and find the previously mentioned Loading Screen artwork in-game next to the basketball court on the Western side of the POI (Point of Interest) and snap a few photos to share online with their friends.
It is currently unknown as to how long LeBron James will remain in the Fortnite Item Shop so those looking to add the iconic basketball player to their Lockers should undoubtedly make their move sooner than later. Icon Series collaborations are frequently rotated in and out of the Item Shop meaning that players could see additional opportunities to purchase their favourite collaboration again in the future should they inadvertently miss out.
