Epic Games is celebrating the release of KID A MNESIA EXHIBITION by inviting players to experience the upside-down digital/analogue universe for themselves and unlock some exclusive in-game rewards for Fortnite which include a Lobby Track and Loading Screen. The unique and one-of-a-kind experience is presented by English rock group Radiohead and Epic Games Publishing with development handled by [namethemachine] & Arbitrarily Good Productions and is currently available to download for FREE exclusively on PlayStation 5 consoles and Windows PC via the Epic Games Launcher client.
KID A MNESIA EXHIBITION was created from original Radiohead artwork and recordings that have been merged together to commemorate 21 years of their Kid A and Amnesiac albums which were released on October 2nd, 2000 and May 30th, 2001 respectively. The Kid A album became their first album to reach #1 in the United States – selling 207,000+ copies within the first week – before hitting Platinum in Australia, Canada, France, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The Amnesiac album was nominated for several Grammy Awards and took home the award for Best Recording Package during the 44th Annual Grammy Awards located at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California.
Players that download and play through the KID A MNESIA EXHIBITON on either their PlayStation 5 console or Windows PC device will receive the Radiohead Lobby Track for their Fortnite Locker which is called “Untitled v1” and is taken directly from Radiohead’s anniversary triple release of the Kid A Mnesia album. Epic Games has stated that players should ensure that their PlayStation account is linked to their active Epic Games account in order to successfully unlock the exclusive reward. Once players have downloaded the experience onto their PlayStation 5 consoles, players are required to log in to their Fortnite account for the Lobby Track to be awarded and placed into their Fortnite Locker.
Epic Games is also adding a FREE cosmetic to the Fortnite Item Shop which will be available to players at no additional cost. The Land of Freedom Loading Screen is indicated with a 0 V-Bucks marker and can be found next to the Victor Elite Outfit, Victory Crest Back Bling, and In Btwn Lobby Track under the “More Offers” section. Players can purchase the The Land of Freedom Loading Screen at any time between November 18th, 2021 at 7PM EST until November 22nd, 2021 at 7PM EST at which point it will be removed and rotated out of the Fortnite Item Shop; artwork is inspired by the Kid A album.
The KID A MNESIA EXHIBITION includes a Photosensitivity Warning when launching the experience that cautions players who might react to certain visual images, patterns, and flashing lights. Reactions might be reduced by playing in a well lit room but players are strongly encouraged to avoid playing through the experience if they begin to feel drowsy. Prolonged exposure to the experience, observing it from a distance as well as on a smaller television screen or monitor could also cause some discomfort.
