Epic Games is bringing back the Reboot a Friend campaign to allow players to invite their friends back into the world of Fortnite and check out all of the amazing NEW content that has since been added with the release of Chapter 2 – Season 6 while unlocking some FREE rewards in the process. The campaign will run from April 6th, 2021 and conclude on April 26th, 2021 at 2:59AM EST during which point players can send an invite to any of their friends whom have not played Fortnite within the past 30 days or more; maximum of three invitations can be sent at a time.
Players can login to their Epic Games account and head over to the Reboot a Friend website to select up to three friends on their Friends List that they would like to add to their squad and reboot into the game; list becomes locked after logging in to the campaign website for the first time. Once all invites have been sent out, players simply have to squad up with their friends and play Fortnite with each other to earn points which can be used to unlock different cosmetics and rewards; never-before-released items which may become available for purchase in the future.
There are a total of four different rewards to unlock including: Reboot a Friend Spray, Heartbeat Wrap, Toxic Flash Glider, and the Plasma Carrot Pickaxe (with two variants) which require 100 points, 200 points, 300 points, and 400 points to unlock respectively. Points can be earned by playing Fortnite matches with friends that have been rebooted and added to the Reboot a Friend Squad; 100 point bonus for playing the first game with a rebooted friend and 10 points are awarded for each additional match afterwards. Rewards will be granted to qualifying accounts within seven days of unlocking them through their progress bar.
Players that do not have anyone on their Friends List that have not played Fornite in 30 or more days are still invited to participate in the campaign by adding their friends to their squad, play matches, earn points, and unlock rewards! The 100 point bonus will not be awarded to those particular group of players. Epic Games is also asking the Fortnite community to share their Reboot a Friend experiences on social media using the #RebootAFriend hashtag on Twitter; completely voluntary and not required or necessary in order to participate in the campaign – just for fun!
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices.
