In honour of his 35th anniversary, Nintendo has announced that a special edition Nintendo Switch console is coming down the Warp Pipe in a few short weeks, sporting a familiar Red and Blue colour scheme in honour of Mario’s impeccable style. The Nintendo Switch Mario Red & Blue Edition includes a Bold Red design on the Nintendo Switch console, Joy-Con controllers, and Nintendo Switch Dock with a Solid Blue design on the Joy-Con grips and wrist straps. The bundle also comes packed with a special carrying case – decorated with Mario gloves, overalls, and hats – as well as a screen protector to keep it safe and secured during travel.
This is not the first time that Nintendo has released a special edition of their Nintendo Switch console with Animal Crossing: New Horizons launching a Pastel Blue and Pastel Green inspired design adorned with Tom Nook, Timmy, and Tommy decals. The Mario Red & Blue Edition will retail for $399.99 CAD and release on February 12th, 2021 – same day as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and NEW Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo.
