Epic Games has launched a NEW incentive for Fortnite Crew subscribers that will reward active members with an evolving Back Bling and unlockable Pickaxe which will serve as a symbol of their dedication and loyalty to the popular service. With the recent release of the v17.50 update which was implemented on August 31st, 2021 after some brief downtime, players who are currently subscribed to the Fortnite Crew subscription service will automatically receive the Protocol Pack Back Bling and have the opportunity to earn five additional Styles for the exclusive cosmetic.
The Protocol Pack is part of the Fortnite Crew Legacy Set and is fully customizable with players able to change the colour of the Back Bling including the Hologram which features the Banner Icon that is currently equipped as well as the Back Bling Smoke effect. The Protocol Pack Back Bling reward is being offered for a limited time and will expire on December 31st, 2021 at 7PM EST according to Epic Games via the FAQ on the official Fortnite website which includes information on how to join the Fortnite Crew service, benefits and rewards included in the subscription, billing information, and more!
The Fortnite Crew Legacy Set will unlock in the following stages:
- Stage 1 – unlock the Protocol Pack Back Bling with NEW or recurring subscriptions
- Stage 2 – members will receive the Protocol Elite Style after Stage 1
- Stage 3 – members will receive the Protocol Overdrive Style and Zen Axe Pickaxe after Stage 2
- Stage 4 – members will receive the Zen Striker Style after Stage 3
- Stage 5 – members will receive the Zen Ultra Style after Stage 4
- Stage 6 – members will receive the Zen Assault Axe Style after Stage 5
Those interested in unlocking additional Styles for the Protocol Pack Back Bling and Pickaxe but are unable to maintain a consecutive subscription need not to worry as players will be able to will continue their progression exactly where they left off as long as Stages are still available. The Protocol Pack Back Bling and Pickaxe progressive Stages are obtainable for 12 months following the initial subscription date with each NEW option unlocking on the 14th of each subsequent month.
As with previous Fortnite Crew Packs, the current Battle Pass will be gifted to active subscribers at no additional cost; those that previously purchased the current Battle Pass prior to subscribing will be given a one-time return of 950 V-Bucks which will be applied to qualifying accounts. Membership costs $15.99 CAD per month and players can cancel their subscription at any time. Fortnite Crew subscriptions will remain effective until the next billing period; all cosmetics and V-Bucks obtained during the active period will not be returned; keep them forever!
