The greatest comedic superhero – Chapulín Colorado – from Latin America has climbed aboard the Battle Bus and accepted the invitation to join Fortnite in honour of the 51st anniversary of the popular Mexican television series El Chapulín Colorado which ran for seven seasons. The show premiered on February 28th, 1973 and was a parody of superheroes created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños who also starred as the main character – a clumsy yet loveable man with teleportation powers, danger detecting antennae, and an assortment of gadgets; always ready to save the world. His pleasant demeanor and heart of gold propelled him to be loved throughout nearly every household in Latin America.
Epic Games released El Chapulín into the Fortnite Item Shop on November 1st, 2021 at 8PM EST with three separate bundles available for players to purchase including the El Chapulín Colorado Bundle which comes packaged with the El Chapulín Colorado Outfit, Paralizatrón CH-3000 Back Bling, ¡Que no panda el cúnico! Emote, and the always faithful Chipote Chillón Pickaxe for 1,600 V-Bucks. Players can also purchase each of the items and cosmetics individually with both the Emote and Pickaxe priced at 500 V-Bucks while the Outfit is priced at 1,500 V-Bucks. Players will receive a discount of 600 V-Bucks if they decide to purchase the bundle versus getting each item separately.
Players looking to bring the spirit of El Chapulín to their favourite Fortnite characters can do so via the Colorada Bundle which includes the Capitana Colorada Outfit, Amazona Colorada Outfit, Guerrera Colorada Outfit, Heroína Colorada Outfit, and Defensora Colorada Outfit for 2,000 V-Bucks with the El Chapulín Bundle containing the Agente Colorado Outfit, Soldado Colorado Outfit, Guerrero Colorado Outfit, Héroe Colorado Outfit, and Defensor Colorado Outfit for 2,000 V-Bucks as well. Each of the ten character Outfits can also be purchased individually for 800 V-Bucks with a discount of 2,000 V-Bucks available for players wanting to acquire each of the female and/or male Outfits.
Epic Games is also giving Fortnite players the opportunity to explore the world of El Chapulín by visiting Aventura Colorada which is a Creative Map built by community member Iscariote who also designed the J Balvin – La Fiesta experience. The map is based on the Chapulín Colorado sitcom with minigames inspired by some of the most iconic moments from the show including the Chipote Chillón, running around at incredible speeds with the Antenitas de Vinil, and shrinking down with the Pastillas de Chiquitolina to observe and explore the world from a unique perspective! Players can search for the experience with the Island Code: 6118-9838-7849 as well as through the Discover screen.
Players can also continue the Chapulín Colorado celebrations on TikTok by sharing their own tribute videos using the hashtag #FNChapulínColorado and discover content from other Fortnite creators. It is currently unknown as to exactly how long the El Chapulín Outfit and his related cosmetics will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop before it rotates out; might return in the future.
