J Balvin Returns To The World Of Fortnite As Latest Icon Series Collaboration With An Exclusive Emote

After bringing down the [haunted] house during the Fortnitemares 2020 celebration, five-time Latin Grammy Award winning artist – J Balvin – is making his triumphant return to Fortnite as the latest addition to the Icon Series. J Balvin is a reggaetón global ambassador and will arrive in the Item Shop on August 26th, 2021 at 8PM EST for a limited time. Reggaetón is a musical style that originated in Puerto Rico during the mid-1990s and combines rap with Caribbean rhythms.

Players will be able to add J Balvin to their Fortnite Locker via the J Balvin Bundle which will include the J Balvin Outfit, Real Back Bling, Real Pickaxe, Balvin Cruiser Glider, and the In Da Party Emote which features music from “In Da Getto” by J Balvin and Skrillex. In addition to the default Style, the J Balvin Outfit comes equipped with the fierce Energia Balvin Style and the Skeleton Balvin Style which is a throwback to his original Fortnitemares 2020 performance.

Players had the opportunity to unlock J Balvin early via the J Balvin Cup on August 24th, 2021 which was a Duos tournament that allowed the top performing teams in each region including North America (East), North America (West), Brazil, Asia, Oceania, Europe, and the Middle East to receive the J Balvin Outfit, Real Back Bling, and Real Pickaxe before they appeared in the Fortnite Item Shop.

The tournament ran from 6PM EST through 9PM EST with a total of ten matches available to be completed within the three-hour time frame. In order to participate, players were required to have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled on their Epic account and have reached at least Level 30 or above prior to competing with their friends. Players could also find a complete list of rules and regulations on the official J Balvin Cup website.

Those looking to keep the party going will be able to do so with the La Fiesta experience in Fortnite Creative Mode from August 26th, 2021 through September 9th, 2021 for a limited time; it was inspired by J Balvin and was built by community member Iscariote. La Fiesta will be featured until August 31st, 2021 after which it can be accessed via the Island Code: 4518-5165-6348 to enjoy again and again with friends, family members, and J Balvin fans from all around the world.
