Operation: Sky Fire Will Wrap Up The Alien Invasion Storyline Of Fortnite With A Strike Force Mission

The alien invasion of Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 7 is coming to an end as the Mothership has set its sights on abducting a third Point of Interest with Doctor Slone moving forward with her plan to end their incursion once and for all. Epic Games has announced that a traditional Live Event will take place on September 12th, 2021 at 4PM EST with players joining the Imagined Order for Operation: Sky Fire which will involve sneaking aboard the Mothership with a strike team to deliver the final message to The Last Reality invaders, ending their occupation of the Fortnite Island for good.

Operation: Skyfire will be the first Live Event since Chapter 2 – Season 4 which saw players teaming up with Marvel Superheroes including Iron Man, Wolverine, Thor, and Storm against Galactus – a battle that had over 15 million concurrent players participating at the same time. Back in March, players were treated to the Zero Crisis Finale which concluded the events of Chapter 2 – Season 5 with a Solo Event that had them teaming up with Agent Jones to prevent the unstable Zero Point from collapsing with Chapter 2 – Season 6 ending with a short introductory trailer and no gameplay event.

The Operation: Sky Fire playlist will be available 30 minutes prior to the start of the event at which point players will be able to jump in and reserve their spot for the upcoming mission. Epic Games is recommending that players log in to Fortnite early and update to the latest version of the game to ensure that they are ready to participate in the event which can be experienced with a full lobby of up to 16 of their friends. Furthermore, there will be no Replay option available afterwards which means that Content Creators should take any and all steps to record their gameplay footage should they desire to share it with their friends, family, and online communities.

With Chapter 2 – Season 7 coming to an end, players should also take note of a few things that will need to be completed prior to the Operation: Sky Fire event as they will become unavailable to finish afterwards. For starters, the current Battle Pass will expire which means that players will need to level up and spend their Battle Stars to unlock any remaining rewards including the Rick Sanchez Outfit, Sunny’s Song Lobby Track, and Kick Back Emote. Any Alien Artifacts and Battle Stars that go unclaimed will be automatically exchanged for the next available unlock option.

Superman Quests will expire on September 12th, 2021 at 4PM EST while Quests outside of the Battle Pass including that of LeBron James and Vox Hunter will carry over to the Chapter 2 – Season 8 storyline; players can finish them off at their leisure without any consequences.

Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices.
