The original PlayStation (dubbed PS1) console launched on December 3rd, 1994 in Japan with North American markets seeing it hit store shelves on September 9th, 1995 where it had phenomenal success during its decade-long lifespan. Sony is celebrating that historic milestone with a 30th Anniversary celebration which includes PlayStation 5 hardware getting a nostalgic makeover alongside a variety of giveaways and special events which have yet to be disclosed. Sony unveiled their upcoming 30th Anniversary Collection which saw players weeping with nostalgic happiness as the consoles were adorned with classic PlayStation finishes including the grey shell colour and controller cables – paying homage to the original wired connectors.
