Toronto Blue Jays Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Unveiled As MLB The Show 24 Cover Athlete; Collector’s Edition
PlayStation announced on January 30th, 2024 that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays will grace the cover of MLB The Show 24 as the star athlete; a prestigious honour. This iteration is historically significant as it marks the first time that a father and son have appeared on the cover of the popular video game series during their professional career; Vladimir Guerrero Sr. featured on the 2006 artwork for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions respectively. Players can watch a deep-dive documentary – Ride to Reveal – which explores baseball’s rich history throughout Latin America hosted by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. alongside MLB The Show alum David Ortiz and Latin-Grammy award winning artist Eladio Carrión – a unique and unforgettable experience unlike anything seen before.

PlayStation also announced the Negro Leagues Collector’s Edition on February 6th, 2024 which pays homage to a significant chapter in American baseball history. MLB The Show will be donating $1 USD for every Negro Leagues Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and MVP edition sold within the United States through December 31st, 2024 to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum which will help ensure that their work can continue – preserving and celebrating the rich history of African American baseball.
