Celebrate The Life Of Martin Luther King Jr. With The March Through Time Experience In Fortnite
Epic Games is giving players the opportunity to take a walk through history and celebrate the life and work of Nobel Prize recipient, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., through an interactive experience which is being presented by Times Studios. Available in Fortnite Creative for a limited time, the March Through Time experience will immerse attendees in the entirety of Dr. Kings’ monumental “I Have A Dream” speech including all of the history that surrounds it whilst continuing to educate and inform.
Players will be teleported to Washington, DC circa 1963 which has been meticulously recreated and reimagined by several Fortnite community members including ChaseJackman, GQuanoe, XWDFr, and YU7A. Historic locations such as the Lincoln Memorial and the United States National Mall have both been included in the experience, the latter of which is where Dr. King gave his historic 17 minute speech for Civil Rights. Players will be able to listen to the entire speech during the event and watch it on screens at different points of interest within the experience through archival footage.
In addition to listening to some of the most powerful words in American history, the March Through Time experience extends with museum-inspired points of interest and collaborative mini-games and quests which can be completed with other players; some of the puzzles will require players to work together with up to 4 players in order to successfully complete. These activities will not only guide and advance players through the experience but also bring to life one of the most important and pragmatic themes of Dr. King’s speech which is that we move forward when we work together.
The Fortnite March Through Time experience was inspired by the work of TIME Magazine and their partners including JuVee Productions, Digital Domain, V.A.L.I.S.studio and RYOT. Players will receive an exclusive cosmetic – D.C. 63 Spray – for participating in the March Through Time experience and spending at least 20 minutes absorbing everything that it has to offer.
