Epic Games Introduces Ranked Matches To Fortnite Where Proficient Players Can Reach Unreal Heights
The battle for Fortnite supremacy is more competitive than ever courtesy with Epic Games releasing Ranked – spiritual successor of Arena mode; previous dedicated playlist for those looking to break into professional gaming and qualify for tournaments. Players got their first look at the overhauled system on May 13th, 2023 before rolling out on May 17th, 2023 alongside the v24.40 update. Canadian content creator Nicholas Amyoony – better known as NickEh30 – partnered up with Epic Games to showcase some of the features including opportunities to unlock exclusive rewards and compete against the best players around the world through the Unreal level – where only the best of the best compete.
The journey begins with Season Zero where players will be given a rank based on their performance during the starting match; separate ranks will be given for each aforementioned mode. Eight ranks are available to unlock – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion, and Unreal – with the latter three levels comprised of the toughest and proficient of players. The key to earning more points is to survive as long as possible and eliminate opponents; lasting longer will subsequently increase point values later on in the game. Players will receive a Ranked Urgent Quest at the beginning of each match which counts towards unlocking seasonal cosmetic rewards – Burn Bright Emote.
Epic Games stated that Season Zero will run through the end of Chapter 4 – Season 3 which currently has a tentative date of August 25th, 2023 until further notice; things change. Adjustments will be made during this time with Epic Games addressing any concerns or technical issues whilst simultaneously improving the overall functionality of the experience prior to next season. Players interested in staying up to date on known bug reports can head over to the official Fortnite Trello Board and discover how they can assist developers in finding and fixing other potential game breaking blunders.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
