Fortnite OG Becomes Permanent Gameplay Fixture With Monthly Seasons Rotating Classic Experiences

“Those were the days!”

Players can relive their glory days with Fortnite OG – a permanent fixture under the Fortnite umbrella following the massive success from the OG Season of last year. Epic Games confirmed that seasons will be rotated on a monthly basis and contain original loot, weapons, and locations albeit with notable quality of life improvements: sprinting, sliding, and mantling mechanics. Fortnite nostalgia grabbed hold on December 5th, 2024 with Season 1 concluding on January 31st, 2025 at 2AM EST.

Rewards can be unlocked with XP through eligible Fortnite experiences.

It is unknown as to whether classic live events which occurred back in the day will repeat themselves over the course of Fortnite OG including the emergence of Kevin the Cube or The Final Showdown with the latter inspired by Japanese Kaiju battles. These took place in Season 5 and Season 9 respectively and would likely happen in May and September of 2025 given the expected monthly rotation.

Fortnite is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Amazon Luna, and Android devices with iOS compatibility available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
