Fortnite Superstar Ali “SypherPK” Hassan Unleashes Powerful Dark Oni Magic With Icon Series Invitation
After five years of creating content, Epic Games invited Ali Hassan – known as SypherPK – to officially join the Fortnite Icon Series with one of the most legendary Outfits to date. The news was delivered on September 17th, 2022 with Hassan subsequently revealing the collaboration during his popular stream on Twitch which brought in over 1.2 million viewers. It was subsequently confirmed that players would have the opportunity to procure all of his upcoming cosmetics on September 22nd, 2022 at 8PM EST as Fortnite launched the highly anticipated Chapter 3 – Season 4 update. Hassan stated that this particular collaboration had been in development for the past year; inspired by his personal brand.
Players could acquire the SypherPK Bundle for 2,000 V-Bucks which included the powerful Oni warrior inspired SypherPK Outfit with Empowered (On/Off) and Possessed Styles, Sypher’s Scimitar Pickaxe, Oni’s Curse Back Bling, and Sypher’s Strut Emote. And with a variety of customization options readily available at their fingertips, players could modify the Back Bling and Pickaxe to increase energy buildup with each additional elimination in a playable match. Those same cosmetics could also be procured individually with the Outfit, Pickaxe, and Emote priced at 1,800 V-Bucks, 800 V-Bucks, and 300 V-Bucks respectively with a discount of 900 V-Bucks given to players who purchased the entire bundle.
The team at Oni Studios – founded by Hassan – designed a challenging free-for-all arena called the SypherPK Pit which features a scorching desert oasis hub with an wide assortment of weapons and gear for players to choose before descending into the depths of the battleground. Those whom were brave enough to enter the sandy arena had until October 2nd, 2022 at 8PM EST to complete a series of Icon Series – SypherPK Quests and unlock additional XP for the Battle Pass alongside two exclusive cosmetics – Sypher’s Mask Emoticon and Oni Ascension Loading Screen. Both items were unavailable through other means (Item Shop) as was the Dark Dragon Wrap which players could earn by watching SypherPK stream for one hour on Twitch during his Icon Series launch – through Twitch Drops.
Epic Games has previously collaborated with other prominent creators from the Fortnite community including Ninja, Loserfruit, Bugha, LazerBeam, Lachlan, Chica, and TheGrefg with more likely coming at some point in the future. Those that missed the SypherPK bundle will see them return as they rotate through the Item Shop on a regular basis; rewards were only available for a limited time and players will not have another opportunity to add them to their Locker. Hassan was also the subject of the latest Stories from the Battle Bus documentary which detailed his career – highs and lows – with emotional and vulnerable interviews about his struggles and determination to make his goals a reality.
