Fortnitemares Returns With Spooktacular Treats During The Annual Fortnite Halloween Celebration
Epic Games is throwing down fortune cards for Fortnitemares – a Halloween celebration in Fortnite that adds plenty of spooktacular Outfits, exclusive rewards, and terrifying Limited-Time Modes to fully immerse players in the spine chilling season. These haunted offerings will be available throughout the entire month of October until November 1st, 2021 with more festivities being added over the next four weeks including classic Fortnite characters and beloved storied monsters who will be creeping in to make their Battle Royale debut for a legendary Monster Mash showdown.
Each week, a fortune card will flip over and reveal the subject of the next Fortnite Item Shop arrival with the backs hinting at future cosmetics to be released in the coming days. The Frankenstein’s Monster Outfit is the first to join the party for 1,200 V-Bucks which includes a Vintage Frank Style that brings the classic monster back to his Black and White glory as well as the Monster Mind Back Bling with a Gray Matter Style as well. Players can complete the ensemble with the Grave Robber Pickaxe which includes a Gray Robber Style and Stitched Up Wrap for 500 V-Bucks and 300 V-Bucks respectively.
Epic Games has also confirmed that The Mummy will be part of the Universal Pictures monsters set which will include an Item Shop release as well as an NPC Character that will be roaming around the Fortnite Island. He’ll have a series of unique Quests for players to complete that will reward XP to level up the Chapter 2 – Season 8 Battle Pass. The community inspired Boxy and Boxer Outfits kicked things off on October 5th, 2021 with glowing versions of their alternate Spectral Styles and players attending Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California will have the opportunity to interact with the Battle Bus over at Universal CityWalk for a limited time. There will be special appearances from select Fortnitemares characters the same day that they arrive in the Fortnite Item Shop.
One of the turned over fortune cards seems to hint at another possible The Walking Dead crossover with Rick Grimes’s signature Sheriff’s Hat adorning the backside of the fourth card; Daryl Dixon and Michonne were previously released back in Chapter 2 – Season 5 during the Zero Point storyline. There is no particular order as to which card will be turned over next, meaning that players will need to keep checking back on the dedicated Fiends & Creatures evolving page for additional clues and hints as to which Halloween Outfit will be the next one to release in the Fortnite Item Shop.
The ongoing war with the Cubes will continue throughout the month of October with the Cubes now mobilizing in greater numbers as they unravel the next part of their master plan that will escalate their domination of the Island. During the chaos, Epic Games will release a series of unique Quests that will unlock some eerie rewards to those that complete each of the available tasks. Players will need to strengthen their resolve, work together, and combat the threat with an upcoming weapon from The Sideways as well as a few returning Halloween tricks.
Rounding out the Fortnitemares celebration will be the third Short Nite film festival which will include a variety of animated shorts with a ghoulish and sinister twist. Showtimes will be announced soon and are scheduled to take place in a movie theatre created by Quantum Builds where each film will get its own room; players can select which film(s) they would like to see during the event. The previous Short Nite event included the worldwide premiere of Gildedguy Gets Up! which featured music by Emma Stevens and brought Gildedguy to the world of Fortnite to join the fight.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices.
