Guardians Of The Galaxy Member Gamora Arrives In Fortnite To Battle Against The Alien Invaders
The aliens are continuing their invasion of the Fortnite Island and have moved on to abducting various POI (points of interest) beginning with the iconic industrial district – Slurpy Swamp. The location is currently enveloped within a low-gravity tractor beam that has caused it to break up into large chunks due to its immense size and plans to handle the invaders have proven futile. As a result, the Imagined Order have called upon one of the fiercest women in the entire galaxy to aid them in their fight and push back against the alien invaders – Gamora has arrived!
Players will be able to add the Guardians of the Galaxy member to their Fortnite Locker on August 14th, 2021 at 8PM EST for a limited time with an exclusive bundle that will include the Gamora Outfit, Gamora’s Cloak Back Bling, Godslayer Pickaxe, and Godslayer Glider. Items will likely be available to purchase individually but the bundle will provide players with a reasonable discount. Star-Lord will also be making a return to the Fortnite Item Shop with items including the Star-Lord Outfit, Guardian Axe Pickaxe, Dance Off Emote, Star-Lord Pack Back Bling, and The Milano Glider.
Those looking to unlock Gamora prior to her official release in the Item Shop can do so by competing in the Gamora Cup on August 11th, 2021 between 6PM EST and 9PM EST. Players will have three hours to earn as many points as possible across a total of ten matches alongside their Duos partner with the top performing teams in each region including North America (East), North America (West), Brazil, Asia, Oceania, Europe, and the Middle East recieving the Gamora Outfit and Gamora’s Cloak Back Bling before becoming available worldwide. Teams that manage to earn at least 8 points will unlock the Daughter of Thanos Spray as a consolation prize.
In order to participate, players will need to have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled on their Epic account and have reached at least Level 30 or above. Players can visit the official Gamora Cup website for a complete list of rules and regulations.
