Epic Games Celebrates Fall Guys Launching Across All Consoles With Crown Clash Event With Rewards
Epic Games acquired Mediatonic – developers of Fall Guys – on March 2nd, 2021 which marked a joyous achievement for both parties in question. The indie game officially launched on PlayStation 4 consoles back in August 2020 during the onslaught of the global pandemic and players were treated to quite an exceptional treat which helped take their minds off the uncertainty of the world. The team quickly grew from having 35 employees to over 150 according to Oliver Hindle, Community & Social Director at Mediatonic whom released the statement to the official Mediatonic website. The partnership has seen tremendous success since hitting all platforms and Epic Games is celebrating the Free-to-Play model with a stacked event drizzled with all kinds of rewards for players to unlock for a limited time.
The Crown Clash event began on June 29th, 2022 and will conclude on July 11th, 2022 at 6AM EST with players having an opportunity to try Fall Guys for themselves at no additional cost while subsequently earning rewards across three Epic Games titles: Rocket League, Fortnite, and Fall Guys itself. Participation in the event is achieved by simply downloading Fall Guys on the preferred platform of choice including Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC – first time release – with players having to dash through a world filled with slime, fruit, and lots of beans. PlayStation community members are invited to join the festivities as the title features cross-platform and cross-progression gameplay.
There are five stages of rewards to unlock and players are not required to play either Rocket League or Fortnite but rather stick with Fall Guys to unlock everything. Epic Games developed a handy Crown Clash tracker which will monitor progress from players and keep them up-to-date on how many matches are left before all reward brackets have been awarded. Players will earn the Stacked! Spray, Stacked with Love Emoticon, Sweet Clementine Pickaxe, Waffler Back Bling, and Major Mancake Outfit following the completion of 10 rounds, 20 rounds, 40 rounds, 70 rounds, and 100 rounds respectively; cosmetics might appear in the Fortnite Item Shop in the future but no confirmation from Epic Games has been provided. Rewards could take up to two weeks before being awarded to eligible accounts.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
