Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Launches With Remastered Tracks From Past Nintendo Titles
Nintendo is giving Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players some even more high-octane action to the competitive circuit with the Booster Course Pass which will add an additional 48 courses to the extremely popular game available now for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. The official announcement for this DLC pack was originally showcased back in February 2022 during a Nintendo Direct presentation with those holding active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack memberships gaining access to the first wave on March 18th, 2022 at no additional cost; included with price of subscription. Players have the option of purchasing the Booster Course Pass on its own for $32.99 CAD however a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required in order to take full advantage of the online gameplay and features.
Players will have access to remastered tracks from classic titles across the entire Mario Kart franchise including Super Mario Kart (SNES), Mario Kart: Double Dash (GameCube), and Mario Kart Tour (iOS and Android) with Nintendo releasing content throughout 2022 and 2023 in waves; each consisting of two Cups with four courses packaged inside each of them. The Golden Dash Cup is part of Wave One which includes with the Paris Promenade (Tour), Toad Circuit (3DS), Choco Mountain (N64), and Coconut Mall (Wii) alongside the Lucky Cat Cup which includes the Tokyo Blur (Tour), Shroom Ridge (DS), Sky Garden (GBA), and Ninja Hideaway (Tour) courses; satisfying mixture of both classic and modern tracks.
Nintendo has not officially announced the launch dates for the remaining five Waves but players could expect to see them drop on a quarterly basis which would quite honestly be a logical and unconfirmed release window; SophistiGamer will provide an update as this story develops. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available now exclusively for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite consoles with players needing an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, Nintendo Account, and internet connection in order to access online play and features.
