PlayStation Player Celebration Returns With Community Challenges And Exclusive Rewards

Sony is celebrating their passionate PlayStation community all around the world with the return of their popular Days of Play event which provides players with the opportunity to discover endless possibilities on the PlayStation platform while tackling challenges together and rewarding them with exclusive PlayStation Network (PSN) avatars, themes, and more! Mary Yee, Vice President, Global Marketing, SIE made the announcement via the PlayStation Blog on May 11th, 2021 with instructions on how players can get started including registration as well as additional participation details.

Registration for Days of Play began on May 18th, 2021 and will close on May 31st, 2021 with the entire event scheduled to conclude on June 8th, 2021 at 2:59AM EST. Players that are interested in participating can sign up on the official PlayStation Celebration website and track their Games Goals and Trophies Goals progress which updates once a day with the exception of weekends.

Yee explains that Sony wanted to make the 2021 Days of Play event even more special and engaging for their gaming community with various activities designed to showcase and highlight the power of play, gaming together, and the overall vibrancy of the entire PlayStation community including: PlayStation Player Celebration, Days of Play Celebration Sale, FREE Online Multiplayer weekends, and Share of the Week competitions which features a NEW theme each week on social media.

There are three types of Goals that players will need to work together in order to achieve and unlock the corresponding rewards:

  • Games Goals – requires the PlayStation community to play a target number of games during each stage of the event. In order to qualify as a played game, at least one (1) hour must be spent in each game before the end of the week with players able to earn double points if they play with users on their Friends List who have also registered for the Days of Play event
  • Trophies Goals – requires the PlayStation community to earn a target number of Trophies each week with a maximum of six PlayStation 4 and/or PlayStation 5 Trophies for each participating player; unlocking more Trophies will not add any more points to the overall total
  • Bonus Goals – a third set of challenges will appear if the previous two goals are met prior to the end of each stage

Players that sign up before a Stage begins can earn exclusive PSN avatars as well as a dynamic PS4 theme – includes custom music and icons – once Games and Trophies Goals have been completed with additional PSN avatars being rewarded if the Bonus Goals are also successfully completed. Those that participated in all three Stages will be rewarded with a cumulative prize featuring an exclusive PSN avatar and PS4 theme set if all Community Goals (Games and Trophies) are completed prior to the conclusion of the Days of Play event.

In order to be eligible to participate in the Days of Play event, players will need to meet four (4) specific requirements including:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and of legal age of majority in their place of residence
  • Own (or have access to) a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console
  • Have a registered PlayStation Network (PSN) account
  • Access to an active high-speed internet connection
