PlayStation VR2 Compatibility Comes To PC Devices With Adapter Granting Access To SteamVR Libraries
PlayStation VR2 owners will soon have an opportunity to access thousands of VR games from the Steam library at a minimal cost upfront. While the exact Canadian price point is currently unknown, American pricing is $59.99 USD meaning the Great White North can expect to pay significantly more with exchange rates.
Setting up the PlayStation VR2 hardware with a PC is relatively straightforward – download SteamVR and PlayStation VR2 applications from Steam to customize settings and establish play area parameters within a room for safety; additional DisplayPort 1.4 cable is required. Features that were specifically designed for PlayStation VR2 including HDR (High Dynamic Range) and adaptive triggers are not applied to PC titles however things like 4K visuals and 110-degree field of view will be present; 3D Audio uses the native SteamVR audio technology rather than Tempest 3D AudioTech – PlayStation 5 only.
