Sam Wilson Soars As Captain America In Fortnite With MCU Inspired Cosmetics From Disney+ Series
Taking up the mantle famously held by Steve Rogers throughout history, Sam Wilson made his official debut in Fortnite on February 18th, 2023 alongside newcomer BriteStar – original take on the character created by Epic Games themselves. Players previously crossed paths with Captain America ahead of the Marvel themed storyline of Chapter 2 – Season 4 which saw them joining forces with other heroes and villains to combat the destructive might of Galactus in the Nexus War live event. Epic Games has quite a lucrative partnership with Marvel that has generated numerous collaborations including Moon Knight and Scarlet Witch as well as a five-issue comic book series which was published late last year.
Players could purchase the Captain America and the BriteStar Bundle for only 2,600 V-Bucks which came with the Captain America – Sam Wilson (MCU) Outfit, Cap’s Shield Back Bling and Pickaxe, Exo-7 Falcon Wings Glider, BriteStar Outfit with Bomber Style, Brave and Brite Wrap, Brite’s Shield Back Bling and Pickaxe, and exclusive Captain America and the BriteStar Loading Screen. A discount of 1,700 V-Bucks was offered to players – cosmetics were also available as separate transactions:
- Captain America – Sam Wilson (MCU) Outfit (2,000 V-Bucks) | BriteStar Outfit (1,800 V-Bucks)

Sam Wilson is portrayed by Anthony Mackie and made his official debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) with subsequent appearances in other projects including Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Captain America: New World Order (2024) which is currently in production. The latter sees Wilson taking on the role of Captain America following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series on Disney+ with Harrison Ford joining the MCU as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross – taking over the role for the late William Hurt whom passed away on March 13th, 2022 after battling prostate cancer.
