Star Wars Celebration Integrated Throughout Entire Fortnite Universe; Special Rewards For Jedi And Sith

The annual Star Wars Day celebration – observed on May 4th – has returned to Fortnite with players able to interact with the colossal science fiction franchise in new and exciting ways. Epic Games brought galactic content to LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival for the first time with each mode containing exclusive rewards including the AWR Pack Back Bling by completing Battle Royale restricted challenges which collectively expire on May 14th, 2024 at 9AM EST. Unfortunately, lightsabers have been unable to ascend to the rank of Pickaxe despite years of outcry from the community.

Epic Games has a longstanding relationship with Lucasfilm Ltd. that has seen several collaborations manifest into existence including Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi from The Book of Boba Fett and titular Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Darth Vader was the tier 100 skin for Chapter 3 – Season 3 which continues to be a sensitive and divisive issue given that Battle Pass rewards cannot be obtained outside of their respected season with Epic Games unlikely to alter that philosophy. The infamous Sith Lord himself can however be found on the island with a contingent of Stormtroopers – defeating him allows players to wield Darth Vader’s Lightsaber which can be thrown and deflects incoming shots.

Battle Royale/Zero Build

The island is currently under Galactic occupation with Imperial Roadblocks strategically placed to thwart any Rebellion movement. Chewbacca has been captured and players must jump into hyperdrive and orchestrate a rescue operation; Chewy hands over his Wookiee Bowcaster Mythic weapon that fires individual shots or charges up for a heavier explosive shot. Players looking to procure Chewbacca and add him to their Locker must venture over to LEGO Fortnite for that particular opportunity.

LEGO Fortnite

Epic Games has added the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure to LEGO Fortnite which can be considered a miniature Battle Pass with a multitude of cosmetic rewards to unlock. Players earn Studs from assisting the Rebellion which are exchanged for Star Wars themed Decor in FREE and Premium Reward Tracks with players required to pay 1,400 V-Bucks in order to access the latter; Chewbacca Outfit is part of that upgrade and could potentially appear in the Item Shop at a later date; not exclusive to event.

Fortnite Festival

Mos Eisley spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy but players can certainly find a phenomenal place to practice their galactic jams! This iconic location from the Star Wars universe has been recreated behind the Jam Stage. Players can unlock the Seven-string Hallikset Guitar after completing seven eligible Quests – many involve repeatedly playing the earworm known as the “Cantina Band” jingle from the movies; instant Battle Pass level up is a secondary prize.

Players can purchase additional Fortnite Festival cosmetics from the Item Shop including:

• Endorian Drum Kit (1,000 V-Bucks) | Nalargon Keytar (800 V-Bucks)
• Cantina Band Jam Track (500 V-Bucks)

Rocket Racing

Now THIS is Rocket Racing with a Star Wars twist! Players can unlock the Energy Binders Trail after completing fourteen podracing-inspired Quests whilst Anakin’s Podracer Decal and Darth Maul Decal are both awarded through May the Fourth Quests with four completions required for the former cosmetic reward and eight competitions necessary for the latter cosmetic reward. Epic Games has not disclosed whether these items are exclusive to this event – potential for purchase in the future.

Rounding out the festivities is the Item Shop – bustling with cosmetics from The Empire Strikes Back including the Lando Calrissian Bundle and Dagobah Luke Bundle for 1,800 V-Bucks each. Items within these respected offers: Lando Calrissian Outfit, Dagobah Luke Outfit, Yoda Back Bling, Cloud City Model Back Bling, Vibro-Ax Pickaxe, and Yoda’s Cane Pickaxe. Luke Skywalker officially has four Outfits in Fortnite with his other Styles inspired by A New Hope and Return of the Jedi respectively.

Players can procure cosmetics separately however prices are slightly higher without the discount:

While some Star Wars Quests are set to expire on May 14th, 2024 and others a few weeks down the road, it is uncertain as to how long these cosmetics will stick around. Typically, they will make an annual appearance during Star Wars related happenings like Disney+ releases which means players have a small window of opportunity to grab their favourite characters. The Acolyte premieres on June 4th, 2024 and boasts an incredible cast including Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), and Dafne Keen (Logan) with eight episodes dropping on a weekly basis; two episode premiere.
