Star Wars Original Trilogy Heroes Came To Fortnite From A Galaxy Far, Far Away…. For Skywalker Week

Epic Games surprised the entire Fortnite community on November 1st, 2022 with the introduction of Skywalker Week – an update which merely served as a vehicle for implementing the characters into the game rather than a larger, story centered update. Next to that of Marvel Comics, Star Wars characters have become synonymous with Fortnite – having appeared numerous times over the years including previous Battle Passes and Item Shop bundles. Epic Games often coincides these releases with Disney+ projects including The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi which premiered last year.

Players could acquire Luke Skywalker Bundle for 2,400 V-Bucks which included the Luke Skywalker Outfit, Training Remote Back Bling, X-34 Landspeeder Glider, Lil’ Speeder Bike Emote, and lackluster Slugthrower Rifle Pickaxe. Two additional Outfit Styles were available which gave players the option to transform Skywalker into his iconic look from Return of the Jedi – Jedi Knight and Cloaked. Rounding out the original trilogy was the Han Solo & Leia Organa Bundle for 2,500 V-Bucks and packaged together quite a lot of content. Players could grab the Han Solo Outfit, Leia Organa Outfit, Millennium Falcon Back Bling, R2-D2 Back Bling, Electrostaff Pickaxe, and Vibro-staff Pickaxe. Han Solo and Leia Organa were given Return of the Jedi inspired Styles – Rebel General and Boushh Disguise respectively.

Each Outfit (with Back Bling) could be purchased for 1,500 V-Bucks whilst the X-34 Landspeeder Glider was available for 1,200 V-Bucks. Finally, the Pickaxes and Emote were all priced at 500 V-Bucks; sizable discounts were offered through the procurement of an entire bundle. Players were once again quick to point out the lack of any sort of lightsaber Pickaxe – Epic Games designated them to serve as gameplay weapons which become unvaulted during special Star Wars themed celebrations. And as a result, it is extremally unlikely that players will ever see them transition into actual cosmetics in the future.
