WWE Superstar And Sixteen-Time World Champion John Cena Delivers His Fortnite Attitude Adjustment
A collaboration which nobody saw coming has officially arrived in Fortnite as WWE Superstar John Cena joins the Epic Series in spectacular fashion and style. Epic Games announced on July 26th, 2022 that the sixteen-time world champion would be making his inaugural Item Shop appearance later that week on July 28th, 2022 as part of their wrestling inspired Epic SummerSlam event which would simultaneously take place across three of their most popular video games: Fortnite, Rocket League, alongside their most recent acquisition – Fall Guys – respectively. John Cena had previously teased his involvement through an Instagram post whereby the actor shared a photo of the island as Chapter 3 was introduced.
Players can purchase the John Cena Bundle for 2,000 V-Bucks which includes the John Cena Outfit with both Entrance Gear and Ring Gear Styles, WWE Championship Title Back Bling, a slaptastic Five Digit Slapper Pickaxe, and U Can’t C Me Emote; his signature taunt which has subsequently evolved into an internet meme whereby nobody can physically see John Cena – a hilarious running joke. Each cosmetic can also be procured individually with the Outfit (Back Bling included), Pickaxe, and Emote available for 1,500 V-Bucks, 800 V-Bucks, and 400 V-Bucks but players will receive a discount of 700 V-Bucks should they decide to purchase the entire bundle and become the ultimate wrestling champion.
When John Cena posted that aforementioned photo on social media, players began speculating that it meant Epic Games would be adding Peacemaker to the Fortnite roster at some point in the future. Cena portrayed the character in The Suicide Squad (2021) and reprises his role in the HBO Max series which has since garnered critical acclaim amongst viewers. Unfortunately, that particular scenario might have been no longer be possible as Warner Bros. has released Multiversus which utilizes both characters and properties that are owned by the company – of which DC superheroes currently belong.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
