Detective Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) Swings Into Fortnite With Venomous Webbing At Her Fingertips

Jessica Drew swings onto the Fortnite scene with venomous webbing at her fingertips. Epic Games pulled her from the Spider-Verse on October 20th, 2024 with inspiration taken from her appearances in the comic books (Earth-616) rather than Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – animated film released last year which featured Issa Rae (Barbie) as her voice. Drew debuted in 1976 as Arachne before taking on the Spider-Woman mantle. Sydney Sweeney (Anyone But You) portrayed Julia Eugenia Cornwall alongside Dakota Johnson (How to be Single) in Madame Web (2024) which was an unequivocal box office disaster and received far more criticism than Morbius (2022) garnered – both were Sony projects.

Jessica Drew has appeared in numerous video game projects including Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Marvel Avengers Academy with E. G. Daily (Rugrats) and Kiernan Shipka (Red One) lending their voices for the character. A Spider-Verse spin-off focusing on Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen), Cindy Moon (Silk), and Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) is reportedly happening – Hailee Steinfeld (Hawkeye) is expected to return as Gwen Stacy although Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently in development limbo.
