Epic Games Packs Up Summer Event Where Players Could Drive Away In The Infamous Tesla Cybertruck

Summer in Fortnite might be over but Epic Games made sure it was one players will not soon forget considering the collaboration that was involved. What started out as an “all sweat summer” consisting of laboriously demanding daily challenges culminated in players unlocking the Tesla Cybertruck including an exclusive Baja Off-Road Decal for their participation. This vehicular blunder made its debut nearly four years ago when Elon Musk announced it during a promotional event in Los Angeles to the media. It has since been met with immense mockery and scrutiny on social media.

Players that did not complete the Summer Road Trip challenges need not to worry as Epic Games dropped the Tesla Cybertruck Bundle in the Item Shop shortly after the event concluded. It is currently priced at 2,800 V-Bucks which included the Tesla Cybertruck Car Body, Cyber Wheels, Cybercamo Decal, Matte Black Decal, Stainless Steel Decal, and OMG Decal which hilariously recreates the colossal failure demonstrated on the stage whereby a presenter hurled a metallic ball at the front and rear windows – shattering them on impact. It did not take long for memes to start rolling out.

The Fortnite community has been divided on the Tesla Cybertruck coming to the game – primarily because it came from Elon Musk himself. The reactions were so strong that players have conspired with other players to effectively eliminate anyone driving a Cybertruck during a match. The billionaire has also been criticized for his acquisition of Twitter – now simply called X – where users have been plagued with paywalls and lack of moderation on the platform which is unlikely to change anytime soon.

Fortnite is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Amazon Luna, and Android devices with iOS compatibility available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
