Fortnite X My Hero Academia Delights Players With Cosmetics From Beloved Japanese Anime Franchise

Japanese anime series My Hero Academia came to Fortnite on December 16th, 2022 after eagle eyed players noticed a Pickaxe which was unmistakably inspired by one of the characters from the franchise was seen briefly during the Chapter 4 cinematic trailer. Epic Games has had quite a successful history with bringing beloved anime properties to Fortnite including Naruto and Dragon Ball with characters and items inspired by their respected franchises. Kōhei Horikoshi is the writer and illustrator for the series which first became published in July 2014 – spawning three spinoffs and three theatrical films.

Players could purchase the All Might Bundle for 2,200 V-Bucks which included the All Might Outfit, Principal Nezu Back Bling, All Smite Pickaxe, Symbol of Peace Emote, and transformative All Might’s Transform Built-In Emote – allowing players to switch between the Toshinori Yagi Stlye instantaneously during a match. Featuring three Outfits, the Class 1-A Bundle was procurable for 2,800 V-Bucks and included the Izuku Midoriya Outfit, All Might Collectible Back Bling, Katsuki Bakugo Outfit, Grenade Backpack Back Bling, Ochaco Uraraka Outfit, Uravity Booster Back Bling, and Izuku’s Quirk Built-In Emote. Discounts of 600 V-Bucks and 1,800 V-Bucks for the respected bundles were also provided.

Rounding out the My Hero Academia collection was the Class 1-A Gear Bundle for 1,500 V-Bucks which packaged together the Blackwhip Axe Pickaxe, Cluster Buster Pickaxe, Uravity Smasher Pickaxe, and Hero Analysis Emote. Players could grab individual cosmetics with varying price points:

  • All Might Outfit (2,000 V-Bucks) | Izuku Midoriya Outfit (1,600 V-Bucks)
  • Katsuki Bakugo Outfit (1,500 V-Bucks) | Ochaco Uraraka Outfit (1,500 V-Bucks)
  • Symbol of Peace Emote (300 V-Bucks) | Hero Analysis Emote (300 V-Bucks)
  • Blackwhip Axe Pickaxe (800 V-Bucks) | Cluster Buster Pickaxe (800 V-Bucks)
  • Uravity Smasher Pickaxe (800 V-Bucks) | All Smite Pickaxe (500 V-Bucks)

Players looking for a challenge could visit the Hero Training Gym – created by Zen Creative – and participate in team vs. team combat across two different arenas – utilizing the Deku’s Smash item to deliver a powerful punch to opponents. In the main game, supply drops were temporarily outfitted with All Might balloons and decals to celebrate the collaboration alongside special My Hero Academia Quests which awarded players with XP (experience points) and four exclusive rewards including the Deku Spray, PLUS ULTRA Spray, Deku’s Glove Emoticon, and U.A. Cape Back Bling.

Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
