Fortnite Summer Escape Splashed Into Sunny Days With Two Weeks Of Chill Vibes And Tropical Delight

Warm weather and cool breezes are absolute staples of summer and Epic Games have become digital experts when it comes to throwing a proper bash. The annual Fortnite event runs different themes each year and coincides with the development team taking time off to rejuvenate themselves. Festivities ran from July 4th, 2023 through July 18th, 2023 with players able to explore the lively Sunswoon Lagoon whilst unlocking tropical themed rewards including the Treezy Back Bling and Toasted Coconut Emote respectively. Players had the opportunity to enjoy a frozen delicious treat as Epic Games unvaulted the Frozen IceCream Cone and Lil Whip’s Special Serve consumables for the duration of the event.

Summer Escape also brought along something special for Fortnite Crew subscribers – the July offering which featured the Breezabelle Outfit with Academy Colors and Midnight Hour Styles, Message in a Bottle Back Bling, and Bubble Wands Pickaxe. Members also received the Nanner Buddy Back Bling with a Tropical Style as an added bonus; inspired by community member D3nni concept. Three sets of Quests awarded the remaining XP and cosmetics to eligible players that fulfilled the requirements:

• Bugsy Glider | Lagoon Escape Loading Screen | Artifact Axe Pickaxe

Rounding out the Summer Escape festivities was the arrival of the Purradise Meowscles Outfit who serves as the secret skin for Chapter 4 – Season 3 Battle Pass owners. Players have until the deadline of August 25th, 2023 at 2AM EST to unlock the remaining cosmetics contained within this set alongside the Calico-conut Back Bling, Purradise Vibes Lobby Track, and Dune Scooper Pickaxe at which point they will no longer be obtainable. Reception has been mixed by the community with previous events including No Sweat Summer similarly falling short of expectations for some players in stark contrast to the Fortnitemares (Halloween) and Winterfest (Christmas) celebrations; returning later this year.
