Fortnite Stars Have Aligned As Samsung Presented Galaxy Cup Returns With Zero Build Competitions

Epic Games has announced that the 4th annual Galaxy Cup – presented by Samsung – is returning with Android and console players eligible to compete. The tournament will take place on July 29th, 2023 and July 30th, 2023 respectively with Galaxy Cup 4 being the first time that Fortnite supported platforms including console, PC, and iOS devices have been given an opportunity to participate. Epic Games has collaborated with Samsung in the past and that likely played a role in the exclusivity of the competition which also paved the way for one of the most expensive skins in the game – Galaxy Outfit – available to Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 owners; nearly $1,000 to redeem.

Players will have an opportunity to earn the Galaxy Crossfade Outfit, Spinback Slicer Pickaxe, BPM Breakdown Emote, Crossfade’s Equalizer Back Bling, and Crossfade’s Galaxy Wrap which will rotate through the Item Shop for purchase at a later date. The Outfit itself is slated to have two additional Styles – Encore Crossfade and Cosmic Crossfade – and will be awarded during a future game update and Epic Games has not announced which update is being referenced or when it launches. Players that manage to score at least 8 points during the two hour competition will earn the House Cat Spray as a consolation prize for their efforts; exclusive to participants and cannot be acquired separately.

Participation in the Galaxy Cup 4 requires players to have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled on their Epic Games account – with verification – and be at Level 15 or higher; found under the Career Tab section in the main menu. Players must also have reached at least Bronze I rank in Ranked Zero Build which started rolling out on May 17th, 2023 alongside the v24.40 update. A complete list of rules and regulations can be found on the official Galaxy Cup 4 website which includes a breakdown of the point systems, regional prizing distribution, and more. Unfortunately, Cabined Accounts are ineligible to compete in Galaxy Cup 4 due to age restrictions for certain features – safety and security.

Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
