Greek Gods Unleash Otherworldly Rage As Fortnite Myths & Mortals Kicks Off An Action Packed Season
Evil has been unleashed and the Gods are furious. Last season, a volcanic Titan hand emerged from underground and players rallied to break the chains keeping Pandora’s Box closed which unknowingly brought about a myriad of trouble. Myths & Mortals officially dropped on March 8th, 2024 and the Greek Mythology themed season is scheduled to conclude on May 24th, 2024 with Epic Games cooking up one of the most unforgettable experiences in Fortnite history. It comes as no surprise to veteran players that Chapter 5 – Season 2 would be on another level considering previous Season 2 adventures have been top notch including Top Secret (Chapter 2) and Resistance (Chapter 3) respectively.
The mighty Mount Olympus has terraformed the southeastern region of the island whilst the dark morose atmosphere of The Underworld and Grim Gate occupies the northwestern region. Players can explore these locations and summon Zeus, Hades, and Cerberus for multi-stage battles with Mythic weapons and Medallions returning this season – awarded to the victorious mortals:
- Thunderbolt of Zeus | Aspect of Speed Medallion (Run Faster & Jump Higher)
- Harbinger SMG | Aspect of Siphon (Heal with Eliminations)
- Gatekeeper Shotgun | Aspect of Agility Medallion (Unlimited Underworld Dashes)
A fourth medallion can be obtained from Ares at Brawler’s Battleground by Mount Olympus:
- Warforged Assault Rifle | Aspect of Combat Medallion (Ranged Weapons Damage Boost)
The Gods have bestowed a variety of Olympian worthy items upon players this season including the spirited Wings of Icarus which allows players to literally soar through the clouds and dispatch enemies with bird-like precision. Epic Games is also be adding the Chains of Hades in a future update which provides players with an opportunity to grab opponents and pull them closer – reminiscent of Scorpion from the Mortal Kombat franchise. Weapon Mods have also made the trip to this godly paradise and can be equipped in Weapons Bunkers that open during the middle of a match. Thermal Scope returns after its Chapter 4 debut whilst the Speedgrip has been introduced – move faster when aiming.
Epic Games has more Fortnite goodness up their sleeves as Korra from Avatar: The Last Airbender will arrive as the secret skin for this season with a rumoured Event Pass featuring the popular Nickelodeon series following shortly afterwards – FREE and Premium Reward Tracks available. Ranked players can flex their prowess with the Odyssey Outfit for 1,500 V-Bucks which will reflect the highest level achieved in that dedicated mode – Epic Games has not clarified if lower ranks can be equipped too.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Amazon Luna, and Android devices with iOS compatibility available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
