Helldivers II: Omens of Tyranny Features Return Of Illuminate Faction; Urban Legends Warbond Drops
The Illuminate have arrived in Helldivers II and Arrowhead Game Studios is packing a lot of content including a brand new Warbond into their latest update. Omens of Tyranny officially dropped for players on December 12th, 2024 and features mission areas inside devastated Super Earth colonies where streets are being patrolled by Voteless (mindless husks) and formidable Illuminate ground forces which utilize energy-based weaponry. The Helldivers lore continues to evolve and community members are enjoying themselves. Helldivers II secured “Best Multiplayer Game” and “Best Ongoing Game” accolades at The Game Awards with Craig Lee Thomas (John Helldiver) humorously appearing in costume.
Players can navigate the new terrain using the Fast Recon Vehicle (FRV) which seats four passengers and includes a mounted turret for additional firepower. These cannot be requisitioned with stratagems unlike EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit or EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit units. The Urband Legends Warbond released on December 13th, 2024 for $13.49 CAD – 1,000 Super Credits – and introduces close-quarter Melee weapons to the Helldiver equation. Warbonds serve to extend the Super Earth experience and are not required by players in order to progress through the game; purchases are optional.
