Hogwarts Legacy Has Been Delayed And Will Apparate Sometime In 2022

The Hogwarts Express will be arriving a little later than usual as Portkey Games has announced that Hogwarts Legacy will not be releasing in 2021 and has pushed the release date back to 2022 instead. The move comes to provide the team with more time to ensure that a quality experience is achieved for all witches, wizards, squibs, and muggles around the world to enjoy.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world, action role-playing game set in the Harry Potter universe during the 1800’s and puts players at the heart of their very own wizarding adventure. The game will take players on a magical journey through the halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before where students can grow their magical abilities, master spells, brew potions, and tame all kinds of fantastic beasts.

The Sorting Hat Ceremony will place students into one of the four Hogwarts Houses – Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin – which players will have complete control over. Portkey Games also confirms that choices will play an important role in the game as certain missions and scenarios will pose difficult choices to players that will ultimately shape their legacy within the wizarding world.

Although J.K. Rowling is not directly involved in the development of the Hogwarts Legacy story, her books, stories, and accompanying lore are the foundation for the project and has been given the seal of approval from Rowling herself; including other Wizarding World projects moving forward under the WB Games banner. It is uncharted territory that will stay true to the original work while creating fresh ways to immerse fans within the magical world of Harry Potter.

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to release in 2022 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
