Epic Games and Riot Games are partnering up to celebrate the release of Arcane which is an animated series that is set in the League of Legends universe and is airing exclusively on the Netflix streaming service. The prequel series recounts the origins of several beloved fan-favourite characters from the Piltover and Zaun Regions with a star studded cast including Hailee Steinfeld (Apple TV’s Dickinson), Kevin Alejandro (Netflix’s Lucifer), and Ella Purnell (Netflix’s Army of the Dead) as Vi, Jayce, and Jinx respectively. The first three episodes premiered on November 6th, 2021 at 10PM EST with additional episodes dropping on November 13th, 2021 and November 20th, 2021 serving as the finale.
The collaboration between Epic Games and Riot Games began on November 4th, 2021 as the popular team-based strategy game League of Legends arrived in the Epic Games Store alongside three other Riot Games titles including VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra for the first time in history. It is unknown as to how long these four games will remain in the Epic Games Store considering that Riot Games has its own dedicated gaming client – Riot Client – where players can download and play them from as well. The aforementioned titles are free-to-play and recently, Riot Games announced on Twitter that Legends of Runeterra has surpassed over 180 million players and counting!
