The Scarlet Speedster Bolts His Way To Fortnite With Early Unlock Through Flash Cup Competition

His name is Barry Allen, and he is the fastest man alive! After tracking him down in Central City, Agent Jones has finally caught up with The Flash and recruited him to help protect the Zero Point in the latest Fortnite crossover with DC Comics. Once again, fans were quick to make the connection to the Scarlet Speedster from Reality Log 52 – an obvious nod to the DC universe – which was posted to Twitter on February 8th, 2021 whereby Jones states that his latest Target is incapable of sitting still for long periods of time while he enjoys a cup of coffee at a cute little place down the block.

While not revealing the full name of the location – simply referring to it as CC – there is no doubt that CC is actually CC Jitters which is the local coffee shop in Central City as seen in The Flash television series which airs on The CW Network. Central City Police Department (CCPD) Headquarters is also located exactly one block away which is where Barry Allen AKA The Flash is employed as a Forensic Scientist during the day.

The Flash Bundle will arrive in the Fortnite Item Shop on February 13th, 2021 at 7PM EST and includes: The Flash Outfit, The Speed Force Slashers Pickaxe, The Speed Force Back Bling, The Quick Bite Emote, and an exclusive Flash-themed Loading Screen. Items can be purchased individually or together; Loading Screen is only available in The Flash Bundle and will not sold separately.

Players looking to get their hands on The Scarlet Speedster ahead of his official release can do so by competing in The Flash Cup which is a Duos tournament taking place on February 10th, 2021 from 6PM EST – 9PM EST. Partners will have the opportunity to dash into the Battle Bus and play up to 10 matches within a 3-hour window with the top-performing Duos in each region: North America (East), North America (West), Europe, Brazil, Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East unlocking The Flash Outfit and The Speed Force Back Bling prior to their release in the Item Shop.

In order to qualify to compete in the upcoming The Flash Cup competition, players must have achieved at least Level 30 in Fortnite prior to the competition and have Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled on their account. Full details, including point and match breakdowns are available now and can be viewed on the official The Flash Cup rules page.

This is not the first time that a DC character has been added to Fortnite nor is it the first one from The CW Arrowverse as Green Arrow has appeared recently in the January Fortnite Crew with the likeness of Stephen Amell who portrayed the titular character on the television show Arrow for eight seasons.

The Flash is scheduled to return for its seventh season on March 2nd, 2021 at 8PM EST on The CW Network and has already been renewed for an eighth season ahead of the premiere. Other Arrowverse shows including Batwoman and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow have also been renewed for a third and seventh season respectfully.

Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices.
