Tiny Tina’s Wonderland Gameplay Reveal Trailer Introduces Players To The Fantasy Looter Shooter

Players got their first exclusive look at gameplay for Tiny Tina’s Wonderland during the PlayStation Showcase event on September 9th, 2021 which included a land filled with whimsy, wonder, and lots of high-powered fantasy weapons. The game is set within the Borderlands universe but this time around, players are participating in a Dungeons & Dragons style adventure with Tiny Tina is acting as the disorderly Dungeon Master, guiding them through the story to challenge and defeat the tyrannical villain known as the Dragon Lord. Tiny Tina is a beloved character within the Borderlands franchise and players unfamiliar with her endearing and unpredictable nature are certainly in for a treat.

Gearbox Software originally announced Tiny Tina’s Wonderland during their E3 2021 presentation which featured a brief glimpse into the wild and slightly warped fantasy world with Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, Will Arnett, and Ashly Burch lending their voices to the game. Players will adventure through majestic towns, mushroom forests, foreboding fortress, and more with Gearbox letting their imaginations run wild, according to Matt Cox, Creative Director, Gearbox Software who posted some additional insight about the game to the PlayStation Blog following the announcement.

Players will explore the world of Tiny Tina’s Wonderland via an Overworld style mapping system which is inspired by classic tabletop gaming filled with dynamic encounters and a wide range of monsters to battle including sentient smack-talking skeletons and land-roaming sharks. And it would not be a true Borderlands game without lots of weapons to dispatch enemies with and players will have an incredible amount of unique ones at their fingertips including the introduction of magic spells which can be devastating in combat and suits the Dungeons & Dragons theme quite nicely.

Developing a world that exists inside the chaotic mind of someone like Tiny Tina gave us the license to build a lot of wild ideas and explore crazy ways of bending the rules of traditional fantasy while mixing it with the classic.

Players will also be able to create their own hero to adventure through Tiny Tina’s Wonderland with a multiclass system that lets players mix and match between six unique character skill trees as well as customize how their character looks and sounds. While they were merely teased in the trailer, Gearbox Software has confirmed that they will have more information on these exciting features in the future and are excited to see how players will use them to experience the game.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland is scheduled to release on March 22nd, 2022 for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
