Ciri And Yennefer of Vengerberg Brought Silver And Sorcery To Fortnite With Second Witcher Crossover
The Fortnite hunt continued as Epic Games expanded their Gaming Legends Series two-fold with Ciri and Yennefer of Vengerberg from The Witcher franchise dropping onto the island. The formidable duo arrived in the Item Shop on June 23rd, 2023 alongside two creative maps whereby players could unlock three exclusive rewards upon completion including the Confident Ciri Emoticon, Annoyed Yennefer Emoticon, and The Tale of Two Tempests Banner. Epic Games brought the legendary monster hunter Geralt of Rivia to Fornite during Season 1 of Chapter 4 as the secret skin; teased midway through the official cinematic trailer. The possibility of Triss Merigold appearing could happen in the future.
Players could purchase the Ciri Pack for 2,000 V-Bucks which featured the Ciri Outfit, Zireael Pickaxe which could be unsheathed from the Zireael Back Bling, and Basilisk Glider – these cosmetics were not available to purchase individually for unknown reasons. Epic Games also conjured up the Yennefer of Vengerberg Bundle for 1,800 V-Bucks which included the Yennefer of Vengerberg Outfit, Bird Skull Back Bling, Yennefer’s Megascope Pickaxe, and Black Wings Emote. The latter bundle offered players a modest discount of 800 V-Bucks however those looking to procure certain cosmetics could acquire them separately with those four aforementioned items equaling 2,600 V-Bucks in total:
- Yennefer of Vengerberg Outfit (1,500 V-Bucks)
- Yennefer’s Megascope Pickaxe (800 V-Bucks) | Black Wings Emote (300 V-Bucks)
The third season of The Witcher premiered on June 29th, 2023 exclusively on Netflix with five episodes initially and the remaining three episodes will release on July 27th, 2023 before a significant change will takover as the series moves forward. Henry Cavill will not be reprising his role as Geralt of Rivia for the upcoming fourth season with Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) taking over – much to the dismay of audiences whom praised Cavill for his performance. Although the exact reasoning for his departure has not been made public, it has been speculated that creative differences played a part with Cavill himself being a longtime fan of the books and games – pleaded to stay true to the source material.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
