Japanese Pop Artist Gen Hoshino To Deliver Soulful Performance During The Fourth Soundwave Series

The Fortnite community is enjoying all kinds of Summer vibes with the Chapter 3 – Season 3 theme and Epic Games is bringing even more good time entertainment to the game with the fourth installment of the popular Soundwave Series with Japanese pop artist Gen Hoshino taking the stage. According to the official announcement posted on May 30th, 2022 to the Fortnite website, Hoshino’s musical experience will commence on June 9th, 2022, at 8AM EST and continuously play back-to-back for the next 72 hours afterwards before concluding on June 12th, at 8AM EST. The Soundwave Series spotlights musical talent from around the world and introduced players to the sounds of Egyptian superstar Mohamed Hamaki, Australian singer-songwriter Tones and I, and Brazilian rapper Emicida respectively.

The Gen Hoshino interactive experience was designed by 3D Lab and features an evolving space as the show progresses with changing colours, scenery, and activities – matching with the mood of the current song being performed. Players will listen to “Koi” from Hoshino’s award-winning Pop Virus album which was also released as a beloved J-Pop single and featured the “Koi Dance” that became a sensation and can be replicated with a Koi Dance Emote during the show. Those that attend the Gen Hoshino musical event will receieve the Soundwave Series – Gen Hoshino Spray as a memento alongside additional XP to level up their current Battle Pass. Epic Games really hopes that players will feel a lot more connected with themselves by the end of the highly emotional experience; photosensitivity warning.

Epic Games would like to strongly convey that there will be several sequences with flashing lights during the Gen Hoshino experience and urges those with a history of photosensitivity to consult with their doctor(s) prior to attending the event. For their own health and safety, Epic Games is also advising that anyone who begins to experience any form of discomfort to exit the show immediately for their own personal safety. Those hoping to enjoy the show while simultaneously attempting to earn another Victory Royale can watch it by activating Picture-in-Picture whilst playing in Battle Royale and Creative playlists; accessible through the settings menu. The interactive gameplay elements that are utilized and found throughout this experience will unfortunately not be playable through this feature.

Content creators currently enrolled in the Epic Games Support-A-Creator program will be allowed to host VOD (Video On Demand) clips from the Soundwave Series: Gen Hoshino experience on their own YouTube channels and monetize them without any penalties. Twitch streamers can broadcast the show to their channels for their online communities to enjoy but Epic Games is collectively unable to prevent clips from being flagged by any third party copyright detection software or systems. Players are urged to follow and respect platform guidelines prior to uploading content to their channels as it helps them avoid getting a copyright strike or a complete channel ban under certain circumstances.
