Brazilian Rapper Emicida Becomes Latest Artist To Perform In Fortnite With Soundwave Series Concert
The Soundwave Series has returned for a third installment with Brazilin rapper Emicida performing an interactive concert in Fortnite for 72 hours. The experience started on April 29th, 2022 at 6PM EST and concludes on May 2nd, 2022 at 6PM EST which will provide players with plenty of opportunities to jump in at any time with their friends and enjoy the show. The Soundwave Series has a dedicated playlist for players to access – same location as game modes – which can be selected at any time without having to wait for a scheduled performance. Epic Games has previously showcased amazing talent from around the world including Mohamed Hamaki and Tones And I in a similar format with two more musical acts remaining before the Soundwave Series comes to a end; possible that the event could return.
The Emicida experience – created by BertBuilds, Paradox Builds, and Zen Creative – is heavily inspired by the life of Leandro Roque de Oliveira (Emicida’s real name) and how that journey has influenced his music. Players and attendees will hear some of Emicida’s greatest musical hits which recounts the story of growing up Jardim Cachoeira – north of São Paulo, Brazil – and eventually becoming one of the most popular rappers in Brazil while sharing some career insight along the way. Epic Games will conclude the Soundwave Series with Japanese pop artist Gen Hoshino and French-Malian singer Aya Nakamurawill headlining their own Fortnite shows in the near future. SophistiGamer also will provide more details on these upcoming performances as they become immediately available to the community.
Players that attend the performance will unlock the Soundwave Series – Emicida Spray as a memento following their first playthrough and earn some additional XP (45,000) to help level up their Battle Pass before the season ends. Those looking to enjoy the show while simultaneously competing for another Victory Royale can watch it by activating Picture-in-Picture whilst playing in Battle Royale and Creative playlists; accessible through the settings menu. The interactive gameplay elements that are utilized and found prominent throughout this experience will unfortunately not be playable through this feature.
Epic Games would like to convey that the Soundwave Series: Emicida experience features several sequences with flashing lights and urges those with a history of photosensitivity to consult with their doctor(s) prior to attending the event. For their own health and safety, Epic Games is also advising that anyone who begins to experience any form of discomfort – to exit the show immediately for their own personal safety. The Fortnite Item Shop included two additional ways for players to celebrate the latest entry of the Soundwave Series with the Keep Going Lobby Track and Triumphant Emote which could be purchased for 200 V-Bucks and 500 V-Bucks respectfully; cosmetics are currently rotated out.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through the GeForce Now subscription service.
