Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War Comic Series Releasing With Five-Issue Story Focusing On Zero Shard Hunt
A fragment of the Zero Point – centre of all reality – has landed somewhere in the Marvel universe and former Imagined Order devotee Agent Jones finds himself on a perilous mission to retrieve the elusive Zero Shard before it falls into the wrong hands. Epic Games announced the upcoming crossover series on April 22nd, 2022 which will consist of five issues that are scheduled to release on a (nearly) monthly basis beginning on June 8th, 2022 in both print and digital formats. Players that procure each individual comic book will also receive a code for a Fortnite cosmetic which will be a timed exclusive – showing up in the Item Shop at a later date for all community members to purchase for themselves.
Each of the Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War issues will be available at local comic book retailers and digitally through the Marvel Comics app and Marvel Unlimited app respectively; the latter also requires a paid monthly subscription in order to access the service. Marvel Unlimited subscribers – oddly enough – will have to wait until September 28th, 2022 before having an opportunity to read the Zero War storyline as Epic Games has decided to hold off until the series has been collectively released before making them available on this platform. Those going through this digital channel will still receive the aforementioned cosmetics including an additional Fortnite Outfit – unknown identity – after obtaining all five issues.
Epic Games has previously collaborated with DC Comics to produce crossover stories that prominently featured the likes of Batman and The Foundation expanding the Fortnite mythos and established lore in a genuinely creative manner; answering questions while raising even more. Cosmetic rewards were similarly distributed to those whom purchased each issue – continuing that tradition – with exclusive items including The Batman Who Laughs Outfit. Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War issues will be releasing on the following day-and-date schedule in select regions (full list below) around the world:
- June 8th, 2022 (Spider-Man based Outfit)
- July 13th, 2022 (Iron Man based Wrap)
- August 17th, 2022 (Wolverine based Pickaxe)
- August 31st, 2022 (Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War inspired Spray)
- September 28th, 2022 (Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War inspired Loading Screen)
The Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War series will launch in Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Monaco, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, and Vatican City with select South American countries also getting releases; day-and-date is not guaranteed. Codes will be redeemable through December 31st, 2023 and December 31st, 2024 for the upcoming hardcover format; expires 90 days after accessing via previously mentioned digital platforms.
Fortnite is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Windows PC, and Android devices – iOS compatibility is available through GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
