Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix Throws Players Back With Beloved Apollo Island Revamped By Hip-Hop Artists

The year was 2019 and Fortnite had done the unthinkable – developers took it offline for 36 hours without a word; some speculating that their beloved game was gone forever. This of course was not the case as the Battle Royale phenomenon was merely launching players into an uncharted world where stories would evolve right before their eyes with Live Events defining the identity of Fortnite and collabs fueling the imagination of players throughout the content creation spectrum. Epic Games typically leaves previous islands in the past – a relic of days gone – however the tide has shifted and players are reliving the glory days with Reload and OG delivering bouts of nostalgia into the ecosystem.

Players are now dropping into Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix which features the “Apollo” island that will encompass the Season 2 “Top Secret” storyline albeit with some differences. Four iconic musical artists including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and Juice WRLD have remixed locations with Epic Games honouring the late Jarad Anthony Higgins – known professionally as Juice WRLD – who was also an avid fan of Fortnite with a concert event at the end of the short season. Each artist will rotate through the Item Shop during their respected week alongside their revamped weapon pool offerings.

Epic Games has introduced Kicks to the experience – shoes that can be equipped to eligible Outfits including the Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Black Toe Reimagined’ which are scheduled to release sometime in the new year. Over 500 Outfits will be eligible to utilize these cosmetics initially with 95% of Outfits being compatible by Spring 2025 according to developers. Players will be able to purchase Kicks directly from the Item Shop at varying denominations – collaborative and original styles will be featured.

Players can watch a re-broadcast of Remix: The Prelude at Risky Reels before Remix: The Finale on November 30th, 2024 at 2PM EST with attendees eligible to unlock the Slayer Juice WRLD Outfit before arriving in the Item Shop for purchase. Chapter 2 Remix ends on November 30th, 2024 at 10PM EST and downtime will follow and catapult players into a thrilling new era of the Fortnite saga.
