Marcus Fenix And Kait Diaz Descend Into Battle As The Latest Fortnite Gaming Legends Collaborations
The Coalition of Ordered Governments Army have brought two of their best soldiers to Fortnite with one goal on the agenda: eliminate the competition. Marcus Fenix and Kait Diaz from the very popular Gears of War franchise have boarded the Battle Bus alongside an exclusive bundle of cosmetics that can help turn the tides of war. The announcement did not come as a complete surprise to players as the iconic Gears of War characters could be seen briefly in the Overview Trailer for Chapter 3 which was released on December 5th, 2021 with Epic Games subsequently dropping them into the Item Shop just a few days later on December 9th, 2021 at 7PM EST and will be available for a limited time.
The Kait & Marcus Bundle can be purchased for 2,000 V-Bucks and includes the Marcus Fenix Outfit, Sonic Resonator Back Bling, Kait Diaz Outfit, Reyna’s Pendant Back Bling, and the Emergence Hole Loading Screen. Players can also choose to purchase the Marcus Fenix Outfit and Kait Diaz Outfit separately for 1,500 V-Bucks each but will receive a discount of 1,000 V-Bucks when purchasing the entire bundle; the Loading Screen is also exclusive to the bundle. Those dedicated Gears of War fans looking to complete the Delta-One Set can grab the Emergence Gear Bundle for 1,600 V-Bucks which includes the Knife Tricks Emote, Thumper Pickaxe, Butcher Cleaver Pickaxe, Breaker Mace Pickaxe, and Skiff Glider. The aforementioned Delta-One cosmetics can also be purchased individually and will cost 300 V-Bucks, 500 V-Bucks, 500 V-Bucks, 800 V-Bucks, and 800 V-Bucks respectively.
Players have the opportunity to unlock the Marcus Fenix (Matte Black) Style by simply playing a match on Xbox Series X|S after purchasing the default Marcus Fenix Outfit; the Master Chief Outfit followed a similar method. The Kait Diaz Outfit comes equipped with the Kait Diaz (Winter Orange) Style which is unlocked immediately after purchasing the default Kait Diaz Outfit. And Epic Games is rounding out the latest collaboration with a special Gears of War themed Quest that will award the Crimson Omen Spray upon completion. The Delta-One Quest is comprised of five tasks which players must complete before December 17th, 2021 at 9AM EST in order to unlock the limited edition cosmetic:
- Never forgotten – Collect COG Tags (x3)
- Chest high walls – Crouch Behind Barrier (x1)
- Close and personal – Damage Opponent with Melee Attack (x1)
- Gnasher Time! – Do Shotgun Damage to an Opponent (x1)
- Cole Train #83 – Collect Thrashball Memorabilia (x3)
Marcus Fenix and Kait Diaz are the latest additions to the Fortnite Gaming Legends Series which includes Aloy (Horizon Forbidden West), Cammy (Street Fighter), Chun-Li (Street Fighter), Guile (Street Fighter), Ryu (Street Fighter), Chris Redfield (Resident Evil), Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), and Arcane Jinx who was added on November 4th, 2021 to celebrate the premiere of Arcane which is an animated League of Legends series currently streaming exclusively on Netflix. The series features the voice talents of Hailee Steinfeld (Disney Plus’s Hawkeye), Kevin Alejandro (Netflix’s Lucifer), and Ella Purnell (Netflix’s Army of the Dead) portraying the Vi, Jayce, and Jinx characters respectively.
