Mario & Bowser Jr. Join Forces Against Gargantuan Bowser In Latest Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Trailer

Leaving their differences behind on Isle Delfino, Mario and Bowser Jr. have decided to join forces on a new adventure to Lake Lapcat – an island with a distinct cat-theme – where Bowser has become unchained and gone berserk! Players will need to team up and help Bowser Jr. calm his father down and cool his temper in this short but action-packed standalone adventure!

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a free-roaming adventure that will see players travel to various islands throughout Lake Lapcat to collect Cat Shines and reignite lighthouses to help clear away the darkness. Nestled on the edge is Bowser – laying in a dormant state – who will rise when his fury becomes uncontrollable and grow to a truly monstrous size. Fear not, because with the the Giga Bell power-up, Mario can quickly transform into the mighty Giga Cat Mario and easily match Bowser’s enormous size, going toe-to-toe in an epic titanic battle of biggies.

Bowser’s Fury also features an exclusive Two-Player mode with one player taking the role of Mario and the other player taking the role of Bowser Jr., who will fly around in his Junior Clown Car and fight enemies as well as uncover hidden secrets around the world. Select amiibo figures will be compatible with the game – including Bowser and Bowser Jr. – and will offer up unique surprises during gameplay; Bowser Jr. will unleash a powerful shockwave that will knockout nearby enemies and blocks.

Super Mario 3D World was originally released in November 2013 for Nintendo Wii U and is getting a second chance on Nintendo Switch consoles which has been selling phenomenally well – becoming the best selling console of 2020 in both units sold and dollars made; no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic played a part in those sales. The success of Nintendo Switch can be attributed to several factors including the hardware itself, the variety of games and re-releases from previous systems, as well as promotions, messaging, and dedicated support for the console.

With Mario’s 35th anniversary already an exciting and fun-filled celebration thanks to recent releases like Super Mario 3D All-Stars and Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. transporting players back to adventures of Mario past, Nintendo does not look like they are going to stop the party any time soon and there is still a lot more to look forward to this year.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is scheduled to release on February 12th, 2021 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite alongside Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo – sold separately.
