Refer A Friend Beta Program Allows Players To Squad Up In Fortnite And Unlock Exclusive Rewards

Epic Games has officially launched the beta version of the Refer A Friend program which gives players the opportunity to earn exclusive rewards for inviting their friends to return to the world of Fortnite and participating in a series of cooperative challenges. Registration started on October 25th, 2021 at 10AM EST and will close on November 14th, 2021 at 11:59PM EST with eligible participants having until January 10th, 2022 to complete each of the five tasks which will unlock unique cosmetics including the Rainbow Racer Outfit and Gridlock Loading Screen. Those looking to register for the program can get things started over on the Refer a Friend website which will also keep track of current progress.

Once players have successfully registered, they can add up to five of their friends to play and complete tasks with as long as “referees” have played less than 120 minutes of ANY core Fortnite Battle Royale game mode including Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads within the past 30 days. In order to unlock each of the specific rewards, participants will need to fulfill certain requirements provided on the website which updates progress and statistics every 60 minutes. Players that were invited into the program will only be allowed to complete tasks with their referer; the individual that sent the invite.

Progress will accumulate until specific thresholds have been met and both players will receive the associated reward once these goals have been completed:

• Task 1 – Make a connection (unlocks the Gridlock Loading Screen)
• Task 2 – Play 1 game in Fortnite with a Referee (unlocks the Miridescent Wrap)
• Task 3 – Place in the Top 10 with your Referee 3 times (unlocks the Flair Fare Glider)
• Task 4 – Eliminate 10 opponents with your Referee (unlocks the Drive Shaft Pickaxe)
• Task 5 – Gain 60 account levels with your Referee from when you first started the Refer a Friend beta program (unlocks the Rainbow Racer Outfit)

Epic Games has provided a detailed FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) which outlines the entire program and provides answers and additional insight into the way that rewards will be unlocked and distributed. While players are invited to participate in the Refer a Friend beta program with up to five of their friends, only one set of rewards will be granted regardless of multiple completions.
