Relive The Legend Of Commander Shepard With Mass Effect Legendary Edition In 4K Ultra HD
Prepare to take command of the Normandy once again because Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be making its way to the Citadel (and Earth-bound gaming consoles) on May 14th, 2021 and promises to be an unforgettable adventure. The trilogy has been beautifully remastered in 4K Ultra HD with enhanced visuals, textures and models, modern technical improvements, updated UI, and more!
BioWare has been working on the highly requested remaster for the past several years, not to simply remake or reimagine the original trilogy, but rather to update and modernize the experience for seasoned players and new players in the best possible form; textures, shaders, and models have all been meticulously revamped across all three titles. In addition to the Legendary Edition, BioWare is also hard at work developing the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe which is currently in the early stages of production.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition comes packaged with all three titles – Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 – and features all the single-player base content as well as all previously released DLC which have also been remastered and fully optimized for a truly masterful experience. There are over 40+ pieces of DLC content to enjoy including: Bring Down the Sky, Leviathan, Omega, Citadel, and Lair of the Shadow Broker in addition to the promo weapons, armour, and packs which were available as pre-order bonuses from various retailers – that includes the gorgeous Blood Dragon Armour inspired by the Dragon Age series.
Unfortunately, Pinnacle Station will not be included in the Legendary Edition as reported by Game Informer because backups for the code contained almost entirely corrupted data; vital links were also missing. This meant that in order to include it with the remastered bundle, the development team would have had to rebuild the entire DLC package from the ground up and take at least another six months to complete.
Mass Effect Legendary Cache
Players looking to celebrate the launch of Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be able to do so with the Mass Effect Legendary Cache – the Collector’s Edition of the game that includes: a wearable N7 Helmet with LED light effects, a steelbook case, 2 canvas art prints, a morality spinner pin featuring the Paragon and Renegade icons, and an N7 Acceptance Letter. The bundle will retail for $149.99 USD with pre-orders starting today and is expected to release and start shipping between June 2021 and July 2021 at the latest.

Character customization returns to Mass Effect Legendary Edition and players will be able to customize their own Commander Shepard with improved hair, makeup, eye colour, and skin tone options that were previously unavailable in the original games with the iconic “Femshep” preset from Mass Effect 3 available to use across all three titles. Gameplay enhancements for the original Mass Effect have also been implemented with improved aiming and weapons balance, sound effects, polished Mako controls, squad behaviour, cover mechanics, and camera controls.
PC players can enjoy ultra-high refresh rates with a choice between Favour Quality for increased resolution and Favour Framerate to boost FPS on consoles. Other updated features include native controller and 21:9 widescreen support, user interface navigation improvements, and DirectX 11 compatibility.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is scheduled to release on May 14th, 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC – with optimization for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
