Xbox Cloud Gaming Officially Launches With More Ways To Play Than Ever Before Through Game Pass
Xbox has taken a major step forward in their goal of bringing the joy and community of gaming to players all around the world – empowering them to play the games that they want, with the people they want, wherever they play video games. After rolling out an invite-only beta back in April 2021 to select Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members, Microsoft has officially launched the Xbox Cloud Gaming service to ALL Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers for PC and iOS devices via web browsers across 22 countries including Canada, Australia, France, Germany, and the United States.
The announcement was made by Catherine Gluckstein, Vice President & Head of Product, Xbox Cloud Gaming and posted to the Xbox Wire website with some additional information regarding the service and what players can expect moving forward. Players looking to get started must first register for an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership with a recurring subscription fee of $16.99 CAD which includes access to over 100+ Xbox games with NEW titles added frequently, Xbox Game Studios titles added on release day, exclusive member discounts, Xbox Live Gold benefits, and more!
Xbox Cloud Gaming aims to connect billions of active Windows PC, iOS, and Android devices with the Xbox platform and allow players to enjoy their favourite games and immersive experiences without the hassle and inconvenience of packing a home console. Significant improvements have been made to the service including the fact that it is now powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware. Moving forward, Microsoft will continue to upgrade and innovate the Xbox Cloud Gaming service with more features scheduled for the future that will enhance the overall cloud gaming experience.
Microsoft has been upgrading its datacentres all around the world with the fastest and most powerful hardware in order to provide faster loading times and improved frame rates; experiences will be streamed at 1080p with up to 60 FPS to ensure that the lowest latency is achieved. Players can seamlessly jump in to their favourite games on PC or mobile devices effortlessly and pick up exactly where they left off with progress carrying over to whatever device or platform is being used while also having the ability to connect with their friends over the Xbox Network.
