Black Panther, Captain Marvel, And Taskmaster Are Ready To Protect The Zero Point
The battle with Galactus might be over but the partnership between Marvel and Epic Games is still going strong. Three of their greatest characters: Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Taskmaster are now taking their turn at jumping out of the Battle Bus and joining the Fortnite action with the Marvel Royalty & Warriors Pack which is now available in the Item Shop. Taking centre stage is the king of Wakanda himself, Black Panther, in a touching tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman who portrayed the title character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Epic Games has also released a NEW emote which allows characters to perform the famous ‘Wakanda Forever’ pose made famous by Boseman. Players can unlock it for FREE by completing three Wakanda Forever Challenges between December 21st, 2020 until January 12th, 2021 in solo, duos, and squads matches.
Among those whom were excited to see the latest additions to the game was Captain Marvel herself, actress Brie Larson, posting a photo of her Nintendo Switch console with Fortnite playing; presumably getting ready to purchase the bundle herself. It is no secret that Larson is passionate about video games as she has posted about them – including Animal Crossing – frequently on her social media which caught the attention of Doug Bowser, President at Nintendo of America, and resulted in her becoming a Nintendo Partner sometime prior to launch.
In an action-packed Chapter 2 – Season 4 event, players were treated to an Avengers style storyline – Nexus War – that saw several characters including Thor, Mystique, She-Hulk, Groot, and Wolverine joining forces with players to prepare for the arrival, battle, and defeat of the infamous Devourer of Worlds. Each Season in Fortnite can last between 10-16 weeks and typically culminates in an action-packed finale that brings millions of players together; over 15 million concurrent players were present this time around. But does the ending of Nexus War signal the end of the Marvel partnership? Not according to Donald Mustard, Worldwide Creative Director for Epic Games. Speaking with Ryan “Agent M” Penagos on the This Week in Marvel podcast, Donald confirms that Nexus War is just the start:
This is the start of lots of stuff that we have planned for many years in this Marvel integration. This is not the end, this is the beginning.

Previous Marvel characters have included Deadpool, Venom, Silver Surfer, Black Widow, Blade, and Daredevil with plenty more on the way it would seem, given how Chapter 2 – Season 5 is shaping up – bringing together iconic characters from various properties including The Walking Dead, The Mandalorian, Halo, and God of War. Who could Agent Jones possibly be recruiting next for his mission?
