Destiny 2 Collaboration Saw Guardians Disembark Battle Bus With Fortnite Gaming Legends Additions
Guardians from Destiny 2 arrived in Fortnite on August 23rd, 2022 to celebrate the hugely popular title becoming available to purchase through the Epic Games Store for the first time since it launched nearly five years ago. The historic collaboration between Bungie and Epic Games featured exclusive ornament sets in Destiny 2 which captured the likenesses of Black Knight, Omega, and Drift with Fortnite receiving three legendary characters: Commander Zavala, Ikora Rey, and Exo Stranger respectively. Fall Guys had its own batch of goodies with Titan, Hunter, and Warlock themed Outfits procurable by exchanging Show-Bucks (in-game currency) for a limited time; players needed to use real-world money.
Players could purchase the Legends of the Light and Dark Bundle for 2,700 V-Bucks which contained the Commander Zavala Outfit, Targe Back Bling, Ikora Rey Outfit, Ophiuchus Back Bling, Exo Stranger Outfit, and Pouka Back Bling. Epic Games offered a discount of 1,800 V-Bucks with that bundle as each of the aforementioned Outfits were priced at 1,500 V-Bucks on their own. Those looking to go forth and complete their Destiny 2 collection in Fortnite could purchase the Legends of the Light and Dark Gear Bundle for 1,800 V-Bucks which packaged together the Black Talon Pickaxe, Crown-Splitter Pickaxe, The Lament Pickaxe, Sparrow Glider, and Investigate Emote. Players received a generous discount of 1,100 V-Bucks as items were priced at 300 V-Bucks, 500 V-Bucks, and 800 V-Bucks separately.
The Gaming Legends Series has seen tremendous growth over the past few years with Epic Games having brought an assortment of iconic properties and beloved characters to Fortnite including Master Chief (Halo Infinite), Kratos (God of War), Aloy (Horizon Forbidden West), Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), Marcus Fenix (Gears of War), Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin’s Creed II), Jinx (League of Legends), and plenty of Street Fighter combatants. Players have also seen collaborations manifest themselves in the form of Emotes and Back Bling as was the case with Pac-Man and Among Us as of late.
